সরকারি খাতে ক্যারিয়ার গঠনের বিভিন্ন সুযোগ রয়েছে। প্রধান পরিভাষায় নিচের ধরনগুলো পাওয়া যায়:
Types of Government Jobs
There are various career opportunities in the government sector. The main types are as follows:
- বিসিএস (বাংলাদেশ সিভিল সার্ভিস): প্রশাসন, শিক্ষা, স্বাস্থ্য, বন, তথ্য ইত্যাদি ১৬টি ক্যাডারের উচ্চপদস্থ নিয়োগ। বিসিএস পরীক্ষার মাধ্যমে প্রথম শ্রেণীর ক্যাডার কর্মকর্তা নিয়োগ হয়।
- ব্যাংক ও আর্থিক প্রতিষ্ঠান: রাষ্ট্রায়ত্ত ব্যাংক (যেমন সোনালী, রূপালী) ও বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংকের নিয়োগ পর্ষদ (বিএসসি) এর মাধ্যমে কর্মকর্তাদের লিখিত ও মৌখিক পরীক্ষা নেয়। সরকারি ব্যাংক নিয়োগেও বিগত বছরগুলোতে দশ লাখের বেশি আবেদন দেখা গেছে।
- নন-ক্যাডার পদ: পিএসসি বিভিন্ন মন্ত্রণালয়-বিভাগে ৯ম, ১০ম (সহকারী হিসাবরক্ষক, প্রশাসনিক কর্মকর্তা, ইঞ্জিনিয়ার ইত্যাদি) গ্রেডে সরাসরি নিয়োগ দেয়। সম্প্রতি পিএসসি একাধিক মন্ত্রণালয়ে ৭৯টি নন-ক্যাডার পদে নিয়োগ বিজ্ঞপ্তি প্রকাশ করেছে।
- মন্ত্রণালয় ও জেলা প্রশাসন পর্যায়ের পদ: বিভিন্ন মন্ত্রণালয়, অধিদপ্তর ও জেলা প্রশাসক কার্যালয়ে সাধারণ ও অফিস সহকারী, ব্যক্তিগত কর্মকর্তা, উপসহকারী প্রকৌশলী, সহকারী প্রকৌশলী ইত্যাদি নিয়োগ হয়ে থাকে।
- অন্যান্য সরকারি নিয়োগ: প্রাথমিক শিক্ষক নিবন্ধন, বিশেষ অংকের সহকারী (এসআই) পদ, আইনের বিভাগ, আইনগত কর্মকর্তা, দূদক, রাজস্ব বোর্ড ইত্যাদির নিয়োগ পরীক্ষাও রয়েছে।
এই বিভাগের প্রতিযোগিতা ও পরীক্ষার ধরণ আলাদা হতে পারে, তাই নিজের লক্ষ্য নির্ধারণ করে প্রস্তুতি নিতে হয়। যেমন একজন ছাত্র একই সাথে বিসিএস এবং ব্যাংক পরীক্ষার প্রস্তুতি নিতে পারেন, তবে বেশি ক্ষেত্র ধরলে বিভ্রান্তি হতে পারে। প্রথমেই কোন শ্রেণির সরকারি চাকরিতে পরীক্ষায় অংশ নেবেন তা নিশ্চিত করুন এবং তার সিলেবাস-পরীক্ষার ধরন ভালোভাবে জানুন।
প্রস্তুতির পরিকল্পনা ও প্রয়োজনীয়তা
সরকারি চাকরির প্রতিযোগিতা অত্যন্ত তীব্র। প্রতিটি পদে প্রায় লক্ষাধিক আবেদন জমা হওয়ায় সফল হওয়ার জন্য নির্ভরযোগ্য প্রস্তুতি অপরিহার্য। পরিকল্পিত ও ধারাবাহিক প্রস্তুতি ছাড়া শুধুমাত্র কঠোর পরিশ্রম যথেষ্ট নয়। এর জন্য প্রয়োজন একটি স্পষ্ট লক্ষ্য ও সময়সূচী। প্রথমে নিজেকে প্রশ্ন করুন: “আমি কি ধরনের সরকারি চাকরিতে চাই?” – বিসিএস, ব্যাংক, শিক্ষক বা অন্য কোনও বিভাগ? কারণ প্রতিটা বিভাগের প্রস্তুতি কিছুটা আলাদা।
BCS (Bangladesh Civil Service): High-level recruitment in 16 cadres such as administration, education, health, forest, information, etc. First-class cadre officers are recruited through BCS examination.
Banks and financial institutions: State-owned banks (such as Sonali, Rupali) and Bangladesh Bank Recruitment Board (BSC) conduct written and oral examinations for officers. More than one million applications have been seen in government bank recruitment in the past years.
Non-cadre posts: PSC directly recruits in grades 9 and 10 (assistant accountant, administrative officer, engineer, etc.) in various ministries and departments. Recently, PSC has published recruitment notices for 79 non-cadre posts in several ministries.
Ministry and district administration level posts: General and office assistants, personal officers, deputy assistant engineers, assistant engineers, etc. are recruited in various ministries, directorates and district administrators' offices.

পরীক্ষার কাঠামো ও সিলেবাস
সরকারি চাকরির পরীক্ষাগুলো সাধারণত ৩ ধাপে বিভক্ত – প্রিলিমিনারি (অনলাইন/বহুনির্বাচনী), লিখিত এবং মৌখিক (ভাইভা)।
- প্রিলিমিনারি পরীক্ষা: প্রাথমিক সর্টলিস্টিংয়ের উদ্দেশ্যে ৫০–২০০ নম্বরের MCQ পরীক্ষা হয়। উদাহরণস্বরূপ, বিসিএস প্রিলিমিনারিতে ২০০ নম্বরের MCQ (১০ টি বিষয়) থাকে। ব্যাংক ও অন্যান্য নিয়োগেও প্রায় একই জাতীয় বিষয় (বাংলা, ইংরেজি, গণিত, সাধারণ জ্ঞান, আইসিটি ইত্যাদি) থাকে। প্রিলিম পরীক্ষার পাস নম্বর লিখিত বা ভাইভায় ধরা হয় না; তবে এই পরীক্ষা পাশ করতে লিখিত অংশে যাওয়া যায়।
- লিখিত পরীক্ষা: লিখিত পরীক্ষা সাধারণত বহুনির্বাচনী ছাড়াও সংক্ষিপ্ত উত্তর, রচনার ধরনের। উদাহরণস্বরূপ, ব্যাংক পরীক্ষার লিখিত এ বাংলা/ইংরেজি ফোকাস রাইটিং, গণিত, সাধারণ জ্ঞান ও অনুবাদ কাজ থাকে। বিসিএস লিখিত পরীক্ষায় (৯০০ নম্বর) সাধারণ ক্যাডারে বাংলা, ইংরেজি, গনিত, বাংলাদেশ বিষয়াবলি, আন্তর্জাতিক বিষয়াবলি, বিজ্ঞান, আইসিটি ইত্যাদি অন্তর্ভুক্ত থাকে। লিখিত পরীক্ষায় অতীত বছরের প্রশ্ন নিয়ে প্রস্তুতি ও রচনা দক্ষতা অনুশীলন জরুরি।
- মৌখিক পরীক্ষা (ভাইভা): এটি ব্যক্তিত্ব, জেনারেল নলেজ ও প্রাসঙ্গিক বিষয়গত জ্ঞানের মূল্যায়ন করে। সফল প্রার্থীরা বলেন, “ভাইভায় চূড়ান্ত আত্মবিশ্বাস দেখানো এবং মুখস্থ তথ্য না রেখে ধারণার ভিত্তিতে উত্তর দেওয়া গুরুত্বপূর্ণ”। ভাইভা বোর্ড পরীক্ষার্থীর বাংলা ও ইংরেজি দক্ষতা, সাম্প্রতিক বিষয়, মুক্তিযুদ্ধ, সংবিধান, স্থানীয় ইতিহাস-ভূগোলসহ সাধারণ জ্ঞান যাচাই করে।
সিলেবাস-নম্বরের মাপকাঠি এবং পরীক্ষার ধাপ সম্পর্কে পরিষ্কার ধারণা নিয়ে পরীক্ষা দিতে হলে প্রস্তুতির কোন অংশে বেশি সময় দিতে হবে বুঝে নিন।
Preliminary Exam: MCQ exam of 50–200 marks is conducted for the purpose of initial shortlisting. For example, BCS Preliminary has 200 marks MCQ (10 subjects). Bank and other recruitments also have almost the same subjects (Bangla, English, Mathematics, General Knowledge, ICT, etc.). The pass mark of the Prelim exam is not calculated in written or viva; however, the written part can be taken to pass this exam.
Written Exam: Written exam is usually of multiple choice, short answer, essay type. ভাষাগত সতর্কতা: বোর্ডের প্রশ্ন বাংলা-ই হলে বাংলা, ইংরেজিতে ইংরেজি ভাষায় উত্তর দিন। প্রশ্নে বেরিয়ে গেলে হঠাৎ ভাষা বদলাবেন না।
সঠিক আচরণ: ভাইভা হলে বোর্ডকে সালাম দিয়ে ভিতরে ঢোকার অনুমতি নিন। আবেদনপত্রের তথ্য নিয়ে কোনো ভুল হলে নম্রভাবে সংশোধন জানান। অপরিচিত বিষয় নিয়ে তর্ক করবেন না, সংক্ষিপ্ত ও প্রাসঙ্গিক উত্তরে সন্তুষ্ট থাকুন।
জেনারেল জ্ঞান ও সাম্প্রতিক বিষয়: নিজ জেলা, মুক্তিযুদ্ধের বিষয় এবং সাম্প্রতিক আপডেট সম্পর্কে ভালো ধারণা রাখুন। প্রশ্ন না জানলে “এই মুহূর্তে মনে করতে পারছি না” ভঙ্গিতে বিনয়পূর্ণ উত্তর দিন।
ভাইভা বোর্ডে “দ্রুত-স্মার্টনেস” দেখিয়ে ঠিক উত্তর দেয়ার বদলে শান্ত মনোভাব গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংকের সহকারী পরিচালক (এডি) পদে উত্তীর্ণ হওয়া মেহেদি হাসান বলেছেন যে, “এডি পদে দেশসেরা মেধাবীরা পরীক্ষায় অংশগ্রহণ করেন। তবে কে কোন ব্যাকগ্রাউন্ড থেকে এসেছেন, তার চেয়েও গুরুত্বপূর্ণ পরীক্ষায় সময়টুকু কে কতটুকু কাজে লাগাতে পারেন। ওই দুই ঘণ্টায় মনোযোগ ধরে রেখে যে ভালো করবেন, তারই টেকার সম্ভাবনা থাকে।”। সংক্ষেপে বলতে গেলে, প্রতিটি পরীক্ষার ধাপেই প্রস্তুতি ও আত্মবিশ্বাস সমানভাবে জরুরি।
সফলতার পরামর্শ

Neat attire: Wear official attire (white shirt-black pants for men; official salwar kameez for women) and arrive on time.
